Taboos, Milestones and Roots

Invisibility

One of the most rewarding projects that our students undertake, is the annual Student Award Scheme for the International Society of Typographic Designers. Each year the ISTD set a number of briefs and the students are asked to respond with solutions that show their commitment to typographic detailing and typographic exuberance.

The project is extremely demanding, but it has to be one of the most important learning experiences of the academic year for second year students.

Above is Laura Warrior’s Taboo project, about the invisibility of women over 50 in the media.
