Third year student Jess Brayford of the Chitter Chatter team sums up the start of the talks series:
‘What an opening to the first instalment of the 2015 Chitter Chatter talks! It’s been a bumpy ride but the hard work finally started to pay off as we closed the first of our seven scheduled talks in aid of fundraising for Show Fifteen!
Graham Jones a senior lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan’s Art School and Creative Director of Loose Collective gave up a few hours of his time to travel to Lincoln to give a lecture. He described his interesting career in and around Manchester and how he progressed from student to the success he is today. Covering a breadth of projects working for Manchester United, film director Shane Meadows and The Lab in aid of Leeds Print Festival, he was a perfect candidate to inspire us and even took time to undertake portfolio surgeries; the best part was that he was a little stumped on how to improve most of them and was thoroughly impressed with our typographic skills and had nothing but praise for our wonderful teaching staff (but we know how amazing they are anyways!)
Now the Chitter Chatter team have some experience under their belt it’s time to go all out for the next 6 talks! Don’t forget to buy tickets and help to support Show Fifteen!
